We aim to educate and empower our brides and others by:

  • Promoting the environmental benefits of choosing preloved and vintage.

  • Providing detailed garment histories and care instructions where possible.

  • Encouraging brides to consider the life of their gown after their wedding. This may be through:

  • Intentional storage and storytelling for a future generation as an heirloom

  • Repurposing for ‘everyday wear’

  • Incorporation into an artwork

  • Rehoming; back to Tuesday’s Bride or elsewhere.

Sustainability is not a trend — it’s a responsibility. At Tuesday’s Bride, every dress tells a story, and together we can make sure that story honours the world we share.

Sustainability Policy

At Tuesday’s Bride, offering goods and services that provide our customers a conscious and low impact choice is at the heart of what we do.

We believe that love should be celebrated without compromising the planet and our values. Our mission is to provide brides with timeless, beautiful garments that honour both personal style and environmental responsibility. We specialise in antique, vintage, and preloved bridal wear, embracing the belief that sustainability and elegance go hand in hand.

Our Commitment

We are committed to sustainability in the following key areas:

A C I R C U L A R A P P R O A C H

We champion a circular economy by:

  • Sourcing antique, vintage, and preloved bridal garments.

  • Restoring and preserving each piece to extend its life cycle.

  • Taking an open approach to re-purchasing bridal wear bought from Tuesday’s Bride to retain circulation.

  • Incorporating remnant fabrics into artwork and bespoke pieces.

  • Expanding and extending the use of garments originally purposed for the ‘screen and stage’ – thus supporting tangent industries in their sustainability goals.

We minimise our environmental footprint by:

  • Using eco-friendly packaging made from recycled or biodegradable materials.

  • Operating via an appointment-only service to minimise energy and overhead waste.

  • Avoiding unnecessary inventory by curating a selective, quality-assured collection.

  • Retaining a style and presentation that uses reclaimed materials, decoration and furniture, and foraged foliage.

We seek to make a positive impact within our local community. We also seek to support the community of other ethically minded, sustainably responsible and artisans and professionals.

We do this by:

  • Partnering with artisans, alteration specialists and makers that share our values of sustainability, craft expertise and fair labour.

  • Where possible, supporting local makers and optimising partnering opportunities within our community.

  • Supporting local business providers who share our values.

  • Where possible, we repurpose fabric and trims from altered, damaged or unsellable gowns. This may be in the form of:

  • Artwork by our artist in residence

  • Customisation of bridalwear

  • Donation to other artists / textile banks

  • Packaging and printed materials are kept to a minimum and are always recyclable or compostable.

  • When ‘new’ fabric is required, where possible, we use remnants, dead stock and donated fabric. Materials we use and purchase are carefully considered.
